A place to turn a guttering problem into a clear enquiry
My Guttering Prices is for homeowners who need help with the edge of the roof and the rainwater route below it. Some enquiries concern a single union that drips onto a path; others involve replacing boards and guttering around several elevations. Our role is to help the relevant local businesses understand which sort of job you have.
We arrange introductions; you choose the business
We operate a consumer matching service. Send the property details once and your enquiry may produce up to four quotations from local guttering specialists. The number depends on availability and the work requested, so four responses are not promised.
The firm you choose surveys, prices and carries out the job under its agreement with you. My Guttering Prices does not install gutters, employ the attending specialists or decide their charges. You can ask questions, compare the scope of the responses or leave the work unbooked.
Why a dedicated guttering enquiry helps
A rainwater repair can involve more than the channel visible along the eaves. A union has to fit the profile, a bracket needs sound timber behind it and a downpipe needs a clear discharge point. Details like these help a business decide whether it can bring the right parts and equipment to the first visit.
We organise enquiries around gutter replacement, general gutter repairs, leak diagnosis, joint and seal work, downpipes and combined fascia, soffit and guttering replacement. The categories are starting points. Describe the symptoms if you are unsure whether a blockage, broken fitting or damaged board is responsible.
What we ask of joining companies
Businesses joining the network are asked to supply relevant insurance details and references. These requests do not amount to a guarantee of an individual repair. Before appointing a firm, ask to see current cover and evidence of work on a similar property or gutter material.
For example, experience with a plastic gutter on a bungalow does not by itself show experience of heavy cast iron on a tall period house. Ask how the company will support the work, reach the elevation and identify suitable replacement components.
Useful information does not require a ladder
Give the postcode, property type and the affected side of the building. Say whether there is a conservatory, restricted side access or a pipe shared with a neighbour. If rain brings out the fault, describe where the water first appears and whether the problem is occasional or repeatable.
Take photographs only from a safe position. Access equipment should follow an assessment of the task, rather than a rule based only on the number of storeys. The HSE introduction to work at height explains the approach to avoiding and controlling fall risks.
Keep the agreement clear from the start
The enquiry service is free and carries no obligation to book. If a firm proposes a paid investigation or call-out, agree the charge before the visit. A price based on photographs may remain provisional until the contractor has inspected the fittings and access.
For the work itself, keep a written description of the affected run, replacement parts, access arrangements and waste removal. Ask how an unexpected rotten fascia or blocked drain would be handled and who will approve the extra cost. Record any guarantee and how to contact the business afterwards.
Start with what you can see
You can send a guttering enquiry here. A plain description of a loose pipe, overflowing run or deteriorating roofline is enough to begin a conversation about the next step.
